The Orthodox Church of Georgia has been an apostolic and autocephalous church since its founding (in the time of the Apostles, in the 1st century and was declared as the state religion in 326). Accordingly, it is an integral part of the worldwide Christian Church and has a decent place in the Diptych. From that time, church and secular authorities have mutually built both the state and the church as well as its cultural, educational and scientific fortresses. Along with the strenსgthening and development of Christianity, the greatest importance was given to both borrowed and its calculated Georgian matches. It should be noted that the definitions of the Christian terms were mainly and only known to church clerics and to a small part of the congregation.
For the parishioner who listened to the ministry and, if possible, remembered the foreign words for him. About the meanings of the terms we conducted an anonymous survey on the meanings of the terms in several temples in Tbilisi for three months; none of the 47 active members of the parish interviewed by us knew what intercession means or that intercession and proscomydia are synonyms, nor that proscomidia /intercession of divine services are Indispensable and one of the most important parts.
It is a pity that a complete digital dictionary of Georgian church terms does not exist and is not accessible to the present day. It is our effort and great desire to form Christian-Church terminology as a separate field and to popularize it to the interested masses of society.
