Technical Terminology Problems in Academic Literature

Abstract

There are a lot of problems occurred in Georgian technical terminology as well as in Georgian speech and literary language. Especially it relates to the manuals and supplementary literature.
The manual, used by a student, should be correctly written and appropriate technical terms should be relevant to its purpose and the process reflected. Incorrect term produces conceptual irrelevance and confusion.
Obviously, for some specific reasons, Georgian technical terminology is still very closely related to foreign, particularly to Russian terminology.
Therefore, technical terminology problems in academic literature should be considered in two different viewpoints:
1. The relevance of the term with its function and how it would be adjusted practically;
2. Correct use of specific term by an author.
The article considers some examples of technical academic literature, when the term seems to be well suited to its function, though such relevance is such unsuccessful that actually these terms are not used in practice. Herewith a new term is suggested
