On the Electronic Version of the Orthographic-Stylistic Dictionary for Students

Abstract

Over the past decades the social and political events, in particular, the transition of the country to the market economy and its entrance into the world integration process gave a wide new vocabulary to the Georgian language. The language has been filled with new international words and phrases denoting new concepts, the terminology of different fields and thus the issue of the protection of the literary language purity became urgent. In this regard, it is especially important for students to learn new terminology at school and be able to write and speak the state language fluently. For this purpose we have prepared the electronic version of the Georgian orthographic dictionary for schools.

The dictionary is based on the school textbooks for different fields and offers the mistakes of the oral of written speech of the youth and the mass media and also the terminology related to using a computer. Apart from the orthographic-stylistic mistakes the electronic version of the dictionary also considers the syntactic-stylistic mistakes. It gives the definitions of the entries if necessary.

The concept of the electronic version of the dictionary, of course, means the program with a good search engine.
