On the Transfer of Foreign Proper Names to Georgian(Addendum to the Upcoming Georgian-English Mathematical Dictionary)

Abstract

The paper deals with the names of foreign scientists which are listed in the addendum to the upcoming Georgian-English dictionary of mathematical terms. These names mostly belong to the scientists who created or elaborated new theories or theorems. They are frequently used together, thus making a scientific term. Therefore it is very important to perform this transfer in a proper way. On the one hand it will help to regulate and unify these terms and on the other hand, it will facilitate their use to researchers, students of mathematics and translators of English.
