About the Journal
Terminology Issues is an international, peer-reviewed scholarly journal that publishes original research on the theoretical and practical aspects of Georgian and international terminology. The journal promotes the development of Georgian scientific and technical language, supports the continuation of the country's rich traditions of terminology development and specialized lexicography, and encourages the exchange of contemporary international experience and best practices in the field of terminology.
Focus and Scope
Terminology Issues welcomes original research in the following areas:
- Research on the development of specialized terminology;
- Terminology standardization and the development of academic language culture;
- Terminological issues in academic and administrative texts;
- Research on the sources of modern terminology, terminology heritage, and terminology in translation;
- Reviews of specialized dictionaries, scientific publications, and academic events.
Peer Review
The journal follows a double-blind peer review policy. Each submitted manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers. Under normal circumstances, the review process is completed within one month.
Authors are required to prepare the final version of their manuscripts in accordance with the reviewers' comments and recommendations.
Review Criteria
Manuscripts are evaluated according to the following criteria:
- Originality and significance: Is the research topic original, and how important is it for contemporary terminology studies?
- Title and keywords: Do they accurately reflect the content and objectives of the article?
- Methodology: Are the linguistic and terminological research methods appropriate, clearly described, and consistently applied?
- Structure and organization: Is the article logically organized according to accepted academic standards (introduction, main body, discussion, and conclusion)?
- Validity of conclusions: Are the conclusions supported by the research findings and clearly formulated?
- References and bibliography: Are the cited sources relevant, sufficient, and properly documented in accordance with the journal's citation style?
- Academic writing: Does the manuscript comply with the standards of scholarly writing, including linguistic accuracy, clarity, and grammatical correctness?
