In 1920, the first technical terminology was published, which was based on: 1. Dictionaries (S. S. Orbeliani, R. Eristavi, D. Chubinashvili, N. Chubinashvili, K. Kipiani, etc.). 2. Ancient scientific language samples (Ioane Petritsi, etc.). 3. Everything that had previously been published in Georgian in specific fields, terminological dictionaries, textbooks, magazine and newspaper articles, books, etc. 4. Folk idioms, folk words of various parts of the country. 5. Ancient
writings; 6. Religious books. In addition, German, French, English dictionaries and terminology.

The opinions of the dictionary compilers: “The root or any specific form
for each basic concept should be chosen. It is important to be careful when coining terms. At the same time, we should not forget that the language
is enriched in two ways: the first is creating new forms, and the second is the emergence of new roots. A word containing another word’s root cannot create its own natural formation.”

“We have to think about Georgia and its future while compiling terminology!”

Despite the hard work, the first Georgian technical dictionary did not exist long. It was rejected and removed from use. To the credit of the compiling team, their efforts have not been lost. The terms they created are still used.
