რატომ ვუწოდოთ „არავერტიკალურად“ განლაგებულკუთხეებს „ვერტიკალური კუთხეები“?!

ანოტაცია

In the Georgian mathematical terminology, the angles α, β, and γ, δ
formed after straight lines K and L cross each other are called vertical angles. It is clear that the said pairs of angles are not connected to the concepts of vert’ik’ali “vertical” and vert’ik’aluroba “verticality” in the Georgian language. vert’ik’aluri “vertical” is associated with the direction
that is opposite to horizontal. What is common between the said pairs of
angles and verticality? If we discuss the foreign terms for these angles, we
will find the word “vertical” in them (Eng. vertical angles), but this fact has
no connection with the concept of verticality; it is connected to the shared
point (vertex) of these angles. All the English mathematical dictionaries
define these angles as vertical angles just because of the shared point of
intersection. The German term Scheitelwinkel is connected to this point as
well. We think that the Russian term Вертикальные углы has been adopted from the English language.

It should also be noted that in English and German, this term is used together with more explicit synonyms, “opposite angles” and “Gegenwinkel”. In fact, the angles are certainly located opposite to each other. We
think that the Georgian term vert’ik’aluri k’utkheebi “vertical angles”, like
many other terms, was established by the influence of the Russian language. In the Russian terminology, the said foreign synonyms or the description of designation connected to a vertex were not reflected. It was not reflected even in the Georgian language, and as a result we have an
inappropriate and confusing term vert’ik’aluri k’utkheebi “vertical angles”. It is confusing because it opposes the notion of the word vert’ik’aluri
“vertical” in the Georgian language.

Based on the above, we think that it would be better if we define these geometric objects by the more explicit term, showing their real
disposition – mop’irdap’ire k’utkheebi “opposite angles”.
