ანოტაცია

During the edition of the Russian-Georgian Dictionary, we faced the
necessity to pay attention to such a lexical group as the terminology of auto
parts and motor vehicles in general. Nowadays, transport technology is
developing rapidly; accordingly, new concepts emerge. Thus, it is important to create their Georgian corresponding terms. The work conducted by us aims to fill and update bilingual and terminological dictionaries.

We have studied Georgian-Russian equivalents of the terms related to auto parts, and found English corresponding terms in almost all electronic and
printed dictionaries of different languages that were available to us. We
have tried to collect corresponding terms related to auto parts in several languages and we studied established terms among the Georgian auto
mechanics as well.

Some terms do not have Georgian equivalents, or they have already been forgotten, and the terms established by the influence of the Russian language have taken their place.

The article discusses the material we have processed, presents the results of the research, and our suggestions about the necessary terms that are
required to be included in the new edition of the Russian-Georgian dictionary. We also speak about the problems ethat merged during the working
process and the ways to solve them.
